Elysia Qiu is a Youth Writer / Playwright / Theatre Director / Choreographer / Creative model. Currently based in United Kingdom, and moving between East and West. She is working on the bilingual theatre works between Chinese and English.

She is a Co-founder and Artist Director of strut and fret Theatre Company, from whom she has directed her original play 'Being and Nothingness' (IATL) in University of Warwick Humanities Studio, Edinburgh Fringe and 4.48 Psychosis (IATL) in the 5th Wuzhen Drama Festival. She, as a playwright and director, has nominated as one of the 'special talent' in 2019 National Student Drama Festival, and her play 'Being and Nothingness' has selected as one of the shortlist plays in 2019 NSDF. Through strut and fret, she wishes to combine her knowledge of philosophy and psychology with her theatrical instincts, her roots in the East and her love for the West.In a time when walls are being erected across invisible boarders, Elysia believes that theatre is the bridge.

She trained at the University of Warwick and is currently training in Royal central school of speech and drama MA Advanced Theatre practice. She has worked as Executive Director in the 2nd Shenzhen Nanshan Theatre Festival, also, part of the management team of National Student Drama Festival 2018.

Elysia has also worked as an international producer, she watches plays and attends art festival or drama festival all around the world. She always tries to help the cultural connection between eastern and western. She has already invited Misterman (WUDS presents) to perform in the 2nd Shenzhen Theatre Festival. She believes that there will be more to come.
